Bengaluru's tech corridors are getting new metro links, but ORR and Whitefield commutes still depend on the road. How employers can manage shifts, safety and EV adoption.

In Bengaluru, a few minutes saved on every route add up to hours across a shift.
Bengaluru's tech workforce is concentrated in a handful of corridors: the Outer Ring Road from Marathahalli to Bellandur and Silk Board, Whitefield, Electronic City and the north around Manyata. Many of these routes are among the most congested in India, and thousands of employees travel them in company vehicles every shift.
What is changing
Bengaluru's 19.15-km Yellow Line, with 16 stations between RV Road and Bommasandra, opened to passengers in August 2025. Bengaluru's Pink and Blue Metro corridors are being commissioned in phases, with the Pink Line opening in stages and the full Blue Line now targeted for March 2028.
What employers still need to manage
- Corridor congestion. Where metro coverage is thin, road time still dominates the commute.
- Night-shift rules. Karnataka's regulations on women's night shifts mandate strict transport protocols—such as avoiding situations where a female employee is picked up first or dropped last unless accompanied by a security escort. Routing algorithms and dispatch teams must account for these constraints on every shift.
- EV adoption. Corporate fleets in Bengaluru and other tech hubs are switching to electric vehicles, which raises new questions about routes, charging and utilisation.
- Hybrid attendance. Office days vary, so fixed routes waste capacity on quieter days.
How Zooper helps Bengaluru employers
- Routing and clubbing that follow your rules, including drop-order policies for night shifts, while minimising total kilometres.
- Live tracking and ETAs, so employees and transport desks see delays on ORR and Silk Board as they happen.
- Hybrid rosters, so vehicles and routes match who is coming in.
- EV support in planning and monitoring for companies electrifying part of the fleet.
- Reporting on kilometres, occupancy and emissions for cost and sustainability teams.
Where to start
- Map your pickup clusters against the Yellow Line and the corridors it does not reach.
- Audit whether your night routes enforce drop-order rules automatically.
- Pilot EVs on predictable, high-utilisation routes.
- Baseline cost per employee trip and seat occupancy so you can measure change.
